I knew the moment I saw it sitting on my desk that it was a gift from Brenda... I didn't even need to check the card. She doesn't knit, but in her efforts to say thank you for helping her with a client last week, she celebrated what she knows matters to me.
She knows I have a dream of opening my own LYS, and although we work together, she doesn't hesitate to encourage me in that dream. She tied a metal tag to each skein of yarn, saying "Faith", "Strength", and "Courage"... components she says she sees in me, and ones I will need to reach towards my goal.
A hand-made thank you note was affixed to the handle. I was so blessed by the thoughtfulness in her gift... it's so.... Brenda.
Brenda has dreamed for 16 years of owning her own personal gift service shop. Putting together this type of gift is her passion. It's one that fills her with a sense of fulfillment. Yes, she has the gift of service, but her gift of encouragement is the stuff that makes what she does special. It's working in our giftedness that most makes us shine. I'm praying she gets to realize her dream.
